Differential pressure relief valve

With piston stem areas equal, the valve "sees" only differential pressure as across a filter or positive displacement meter.

Advantages:
• Easy to put in service without requiring a bypass valve.
• Simplicity (one moving part).
• Visual or remote indication of opening.
